I, EDWARD SHELLIM, residing at No.102, The Peak, Victoria, in

the Colony of Hongkong and carrying on business at No.8, Des

Voeux Road, Victoria, aforesaid, Manager of David Sassoon &

Co. Ltd., Merchants, a Justice of the Peace for the Colony of

Hongkong and a Member of the Legislative Council of the said

Colony, do solemnly, sincerely and truly declare and say as

follows:

1. I am the Manager of David Sassoon & Co. Ltd., Merchants,

carrying on business at No.8, Des Voeux Road, Victoria, aforesaid.

The said Raymond Menashih Joseph was, from the time I first

knew him in the year 1899 down to the month of October 1915,

employed in Hongkong, by the Firm of David Sassoon & Co. Ltd.,

and I know and am well acquainted with the said Raymond Menashin

Joseph having known the said Raymond Menashin Joseph, since the

year 1899, and I am able to the best of my knowledge information

and belief to testify to the facts as to the residence of the

said Raymond Menashin Joseph from my personal knowledge of him

and not from information only - I having been in almost daily

contact and communication with the said Raymond Menashin Joseph

since the year 1899 aforesaid down to the month of October 1915

when the said Raymond Menashih Joseph proceeded to Shanghai as

mentioned
